Grants for Open Access Journals

The Information Program of the Open Society Institute (OSI) is pleased to announce a pilot project inspired by the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (http://www.soros.org/openaccess/). To support open access to international research and scholarship, OSI will provide $100,000 in funding to support the publication in open access peer-reviewed online journals of articles by authors residing and working in countries where the Soros Foundation network is active.

The OSI is currently active in the following African countries:
Angola, Benin, Botswana, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Togo, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
